Selecting Your Participation Tier
Once you have connected your vehicle or home charger, you must select your Participation Tier. This choice determines how your charging is managed, so please review the following options carefully:
Off-peak Rewards: Data Monitoring Only
How it works: ev.energy simply records your charging data through your connected device.
Control: We do not manage or interrupt your charging.
App Function: In this tier, the app acts strictly as a "Data Hub" to ensure your participation is tracked for program enrollment.
Scheduled Charging: Managed Charging
How it works: ev.energy actively manages your charging sessions to optimize for the grid.
Mandatory Step: You must disable or delete any existing charging schedules previously set in your vehicle’s infotainment system or your charger’s manufacturer app. Conflicting schedules will prevent the program from working correctly.
What to expect: It is normal for charging to stop a few minutes after you plug in. Our system analyzes forecast data to determine the most efficient time to resume charging, even during off-peak hours.
To finish off the last steps of your account setup, please ensure you have read and accepted the terms and conditions for the Managed Charging program.
