ChargePoint Onboarding Instructions

Important - Before you start

It will be important that you respect any callouts for pauses!

We recommend you follow these steps to check if your home address is saved correctly on the ChargePoint app:

1. Log in to the ChargePoint app
2. Go to Home Charger tab ---> Click on Settings
3. Tap on Address
4. Type in the address and pinpoint the location of the station
5. Confirm that an address now appears under “Address.”
6. Wait 10 minutes
7. Attempt to onboard the ChargePoint charger through the ev.energy app, if this worked you should not get the “your charger cannot be found” error.


Phase 1: Preparation (Important)
Before moving to the ev.energy app, we need to clear any old connection settings in your ChargePoint app.

1. Remove Old Connections: Open the ChargePoint app, go to the Account tab, and tap Connections. If "Eversource" is listed, tap the ‘X’ to remove it.
2. Refresh: Force-close both the ChargePoint and ev.energy apps.
3. Sync Time: Please wait 20–30 minutes before moving to the next phase. This allows the systems to fully sync after the disconnection.

Phase 2: Enrolling in the ev.energy App
1. Launch ev.energy: Open the ev.energy app. You should see a clean dashboard without a charger currently listed.
2. Add Charger: Tap the Gear icon (Settings) in the top-left corner, select Charger, and then tap Add Charger.
3. Authorize: Select ChargePoint from the list. You will be prompted to log in to your ChargePoint account to authorize the link.
4. Submit Details: Enter your home address details to submit your new Eversource program enrollment.

Phase 3: Finalizing the Link
1. Await Approval: You may see a message stating, "Your request was sent for approval." Please wait for a confirmation email from the ChargePoint team.
2. Final Sync: Once you receive that confirmation, wait another 20 minutes for our platform to receive the update.
3. Enter Serial Number: Return to the ev.energy app and enter your ChargePoint Serial Number. The app should now successfully locate and pair with your charger.

Note: If you receive a notification stating a connection already exists, simply double-check that the connection was fully removed in Phase 1 and try the enrollment step once more.
